Editorial Policy

At SirfSports, we cover MMA, UFC, boxing, and other major sports because we genuinely care about the sport and the fans who follow it. This Editorial Policy exists to make our standards transparent, so you know exactly how our content is produced, how we correct mistakes when they happen, and where the line is between news and opinion.

We hold ourselves accountable to these standards on every article, every update, and every headline we publish.

Editorial Independence

SirfSports operates with full editorial independence. Our content decisions, what we cover, how we cover it, and what conclusions we draw are made entirely by our editorial team and are not influenced by:

  • Advertisers or ad networks. No advertiser has any say over our content. Paid placements and sponsored content, if published, are always clearly labeled. See Section 9 for our full advertising standards.
  • External organizations or promotions. We are not affiliated with the UFC, Bellator, ONE Championship, PFL, or any other sports organization. References to these entities are purely for editorial and informational purposes.
  • PR agencies or fighter management teams. We may receive press releases and media materials, but their receipt does not guarantee coverage, and any content derived from them is independently verified before publication.
  • Social media popularity or trending pressure. We do not amplify rumors or unverified stories simply because they are circulating on social media. If a story is trending but unverified, we hold it until it can be confirmed.

Our readers come first. Every editorial decision is filtered through one question: does this serve the reader with accurate, useful, and honest information?

Content Standards

Accuracy

Accuracy is our highest editorial obligation.

  • All factual claims in our articles are verified before publication through at least one primary or authoritative source.
  • Statistics, records, dates, and official results are cross-checked against official sources wherever possible including athletic commission records, fighter social media accounts, and official press releases.
  • We distinguish between confirmed information and reported claims. Language such as “reportedly,” “according to,” or “sources suggest” is used intentionally and signals that a claim has not yet been independently confirmed.
  • We do not publish speculation as fact, and we do not present rumors as news.

Fairness and Balance

  • When covering disputes, controversies, or allegations involving athletes, organizations, or individuals, we make a genuine effort to present multiple perspectives.
  • We do not editorialize in news reports. Opinions and analysis are clearly separated from factual reporting.
  • We aim to treat all fighters, promotions, and organizations with the same level of scrutiny — we do not give favorable treatment to popular figures or criticism-free coverage to anyone.

Transparency of Sources

  • Where information comes from a specific public source (press conference, official statement, social media post, video), we attribute it directly.
  • We do not manufacture or fabricate quotes. All direct quotes must be sourced to a verifiable public statement or on-record interview.
  • We use the phrase “sources say” or “per sources” only when information comes from a person with direct knowledge who has provided it off the record. We do not use anonymous sourcing for unverifiable rumors.

Timeliness and Freshness

  • Breaking news articles are published as quickly as accuracy allows — we do not rush to publish unverified information just to be first.
  • Articles are reviewed and updated whenever significant new information becomes available. Each updated article displays a “Last Updated” timestamp so readers always know how current the information is.
  • Outdated information in older articles is revised or clearly contextualized rather than left to mislead readers who find content through search.

Sources and Attribution

We value transparency and proper attribution.

SirfSports may use information from:

  • Official sports organizations
  • Verified athlete social media accounts
  • Press conferences
  • Public interviews
  • Broadcast coverage
  • Credible news outlets
  • Licensed media sources

Whenever possible, we provide attribution to original sources, quotes, or statements.

We do not knowingly publish plagiarized or misleading content.

Our Writers and Contributors

5.1 Author Identification

Every article published on SirfSports carries an author byline. Author profile pages include the writer’s background, areas of expertise, and relevant credentials so readers can understand who is speaking to them.

5.2 Standards for Writers

All writers contributing to SirfSports are expected to:

  • Adhere to the accuracy, sourcing, and fairness standards described in this policy.
  • Disclose any personal conflicts of interest that could affect their coverage.
  • Clearly differentiate opinion from fact in their writing.
  • Not plagiarize content from other outlets, all work must be original.
  • Correct errors promptly upon discovery and notify the editorial team.

Corrections Policy

When an error is identified, whether by a reader, a third party, or our own team. We:

  1. Correct the article as quickly as possible.
  2. Update the “Last Updated” date on the article.
  3. Remove outdated information when necessary.

How to Report an Error

If you believe any content on SirfSports contains a factual inaccuracy, please contact us through our Contact page with:

  • The URL of the article in question.
  • A description of the specific error.
  • A source or evidence supporting the correction.

We take correction requests seriously and aim to respond within 3 business days.

Advertising and Commercial Content

Separation of Editorial and Advertising

There is a strict separation between our editorial team and our commercial operations. Advertisers do not have access to our content pipeline and cannot request, edit, or veto editorial coverage.

Sponsored and Paid Content

If SirfSports publishes sponsored, advertorial, or commercially supported content, it will be clearly labeled with language such as “Sponsored Content,” “Advertisement,” or “Paid Partnership.” Readers should always be able to tell the difference between editorial content and content we have been paid to publish.

Affiliate Links

Some articles may contain affiliate links (for example, links to streaming services or sports merchandise). If we use affiliate links, they will be disclosed in the relevant article. The presence of an affiliate relationship does not influence editorial decisions about what we cover or how we cover it.

Image and Media Standards

  • Where possible, images used in our articles are either original, licensed for commercial use, or credited and sourced appropriately under applicable editorial use standards.
  • We do not use images without permission or attribution.
  • Video content embedded in our articles (typically from YouTube or official UFC channels) is embedded via legitimate sharing mechanisms provided by those platforms.
  • We credit the source of media assets within the article where required.

Comment Moderation

SirfSports welcomes reader engagement in the comments section. To keep discussion constructive:

  • Comments must not contain hate speech, personal attacks, harassment, or abusive language.
  • Comments promoting spam, commercial products, or unrelated external links will be removed.
  • Comments disputing factual claims in our articles are welcome and may help us identify errors. We review all flagged corrections seriously.
  • We moderate comments but do not edit their content. If a comment violates our standards, it is removed and not altered.
  • Persistent violations may result in a user being blocked from commenting.

Complaints and Feedback

We take reader feedback seriously. If you have a concern about our editorial standards, not just a factual correction, but a question about fairness, bias, or our approach to a story. Please contact us directly via our Contact page.

We will review all substantive complaints and respond where appropriate. We do not guarantee publication of every piece of feedback, but we read everything.

16. Changes to This Policy

This Editorial Policy reflects our current standards and practices. We will update it as our operations evolve, new content types emerge, or best practices in digital journalism develop.
